APRIL AND MAY CLASSES and OPEN STUDIO SCHEDULE

Session 3: APRIL 6, 13, 20, 27:

11:00 – 12:30- DRAWING: For ages 8 and up, this class will teach drawing skills appropriate for the age and skill level of the students who sign up. $75 per child, $20 sibling discount.

1:00 – 2:30 – PAINTING:  Kids will paint with oils on canvas, and with watercolors in this 4 week painting class. They will learn about select artists and learn how to use the mediums to create their own unique paintings!  This class is for ages 9 and up. $75 per child, $20 sibling discount.

Session 4: MAY 4, 11, 18, 25:

11:00 – 12:30- DRAWING: For ages 8 and up, this class will teach drawing skills appropriate for the age and skill level of the students who sign up.  $75 per child, $20 sibling discount.

1:00 – 2:30 – PRINTING TECHNIQUES:   Kids will learn about various printing techniques and artists that used them. They will create limited edition lino prints on quality paper and will design and print their own t-shirt designs using the silk screening process.  This class is for ages 10 and up. Kids will need to provide their own t-shirts for this class and may print up to 4 shirts each.  $75 per child, $20 sibling discount.

ADDITIONAL DISCOUNTS: If you pay for two or more classes at once, the fee drops to $55 per class, per child.  $20 sibling discounts are offered as well.

OPEN STUDIO CLASSES for ages 13 and up

In my Open Studio classes, the individual student and I decide on a Drawing project that will help that student grow artistically. Each student in each class will be working on his/her individual project.

The classes are $20 each, so parents may choose the dates that fit into their schedule and sign up for those dates only.

SUMMER 2013 ART CLASSES

KID CREATIONS ART – SUMMER 2013

Kid Creations Art is centrally located on the dividing line of Brooksville and Spring Hill (50 and Barclay). Becky Brooks holds a BFA in Art Education and is Florida certified to teach K – 12. She is also the art teacher for Bridgepoint Preparatory in Tampa, and has been teaching art for 15+ years. Classes are small and tailored to the skill level and interests of the students enrolled. KID CREATIONS provides a safe place for kids to explore and enjoy the arts!

SUMMER SCHEDULE:

All classes run from 10:30 – noon. All supplies are provided.

June 14: Burlap prints in the style of Margaret Burroughs, using linoleum block printing technique. Ages 8 and up. $20

June 15: “Sound Sculpture” Students will use found objects to create a moving sound sculpture in the style of Jean Tinguely. Ages 8 and up. $20

June 21 and 22: Plaster animal masks. Students will use plaster infused gauze to form an animal mask. This is a 2 part class. Class one will be the making day and class two will be the decorating day. Ages 8 and up. $30

June 28 and July 12: CLAY. This is a 2 part class. Class one will be the making day and class two will be the glazing day. Ages 8 and up. $30

June 29 and July 13: CLAY. This is a 2 part class. Class one will be the making day and class two will be the glazing day. Ages 8 and up. $30.

July 15 and 16: “Ribbons and Patterns” Students will use a combination of colored pencils and black Sharpies to create a unique patterned piece infused with a colorful twisted ribbon!  Ages 8 and up. $30

July 19: “All About Me!” Mixed media collage that is a self-portrait! Students will combine meaningful images and words to create a one of a kind collage that expresses who they are. Ages 8 and up. $20

July 20: Abstract Painting. Students will learn about various aspects of the color wheel, as well as artists Robert Delaunay and Mondrian as they create 2-3 separate abstract paintings. $20
