The Ringo’s plan to host Saturday art classes this fall, and will once again call upon Becky Brooks to nurture our passion for the arts.  Ms. Becky is a Florida Certified Art Educator with 15+ years experience and adored by Grace and Katharine.

September 21 and September 28:  Plaster Animal Masks, Discover the many historical occasions masks are worn and make your own. $32 per student ($5 sibling discount)

October 12:  Oil Pastels, The ease of blending colors will intrigue students as they design a large scale pattern – a Georgia O’Keefe flower or perhaps a creature from the deep!

$16 per student (no sibling discount)

October 19 and November 2: Clay, learn how to work red clay and create one-of-a-kind treasures. $32 per student ($5 sibling discount)

November 9:  Charcoal Drawing, It’s all about technique and creativity in this class with an amazing (messy) medium. $16 per student (no sibling discount)

Age range: 8+

The total cost for all six (6) classes is $95 per student. CREATIVE CLAY WORKSHOP!

Ages 8 and up

Explore and experiment with the three hand building methods of working with Earthenware clay.  Learn about the glazing and firing process and create several unique ceramic pieces of your own!  In my clay classes I teach HOW to effectively work with the medium – WHAT your child makes is up to him or her!  No 2 pieces are alike.  From start to finish your child’s artwork will be one of his own creation that he can take pride in!  If your child has already taken a clay class with me, never fear!  He can take it again and develop his skills even further.  I am here to teach, encourage and guide, and to provide help when needed. 

FALL SCHEDULE

Nov. 9, 16 and 30, 11:00 – 12:30, $55 includes all supplies and the final pieces will be fired and ready to pick up by Dec. 2 – just in time for the holidays!

SUMMER ART - AGES 8 AND UP! - SEE FULL SCHEDULE FOR IMAGES

June 14: Burlap prints in the style of Margaret Burroughs, using linoleum block printing technique. $20

June 15: “Sound Sculpture” Use found objects to create a moving sound sculpture in the style of Jean Tinguely!  $20

June 17:  Pen and Ink Drawing. (hatch, cross-hatch, stippling and washes) $20

June 21 and 22: Plaster animal masks. Students will use plaster infused gauze to form an animal mask. This is a 2 part class. Class one will be the making day and class two will be the decorating day. $30

June 24:  DRAWING: Chalk pastel and foreshortening (theme: wild animals!).  $20

June 28 and July 12: CLAY. This is a 2 part class. Class one will be the making day and class two will be the glazing day. $30

June 29 and July 13: CLAY. This is a 2 part class. Class one will be the making day and class two will be the glazing day. $30

July 1: DRAWING: Mandalas (rotational symmetry) and Tesselations (MC Escher).  $20

July 6: DRAWING: Op Art! (Optical illusion drawing) $20

July 8: DRAWING: 1 pt. perspective (cityscapes and a country mansion!) $20

July 15 and 16: DRAWING: “Ribbons and Patterns” Students will use a combination of colored pencils and black Sharpies to create a unique patterned piece infused with a colorful twisted ribbon!  $30

July 19: “All About Me!” Mixed media collage that is a self-portrait! Students will combine meaningful images and words to create a one of a kind collage that expresses who they are. $20

July 20: Abstract Painting. Students will learn about various aspects of the color wheel, as well as artists Robert Delaunay and Mondrian as they create 2-3 separate abstract paintings. $20

July 22: Impressionistic painting. (Monet) $20

July 24: Surrealistic painting. (Rene Magritte and Salvador Dali).

JUNE 17, 1:00 - 2:00:  GEORGIA O'KEEFE FLOWERS!  $15.

JUNE 21 and 22, 1:00 - 2:00:  PLASTER ANIMAL MASKS!  Make 2 plaster faces - one from poured plaster and one from plaster infused gauze strips.  This is a 2 part class - class one will be the making day and class two will be the painting day.   $25.

JUNE 24, 1:00 - 2:00:  "COLOR TRAINS!"  Learn about the color wheel, work with Model Magic, and use collage technique to make your own color train!  $15.

 

 JUNE 28 and JULY 13,  1:00 - 2:00:  CLAY CLAY CLAY!  This is a 2 part class - class one will be the making day and class two will be the glazing day.  $25.

JULY 1, 1:00 - 2:00:  PATTERNED HANDS!  Learn about patterns and stamp printing!  $15.

JULY 6, 1:00 - 2:00:  PRINTING TECHNIQUES.  Make foil prints and stamp print with stamps and apples!  $15.

JULY 10, 1:00 - 2:00:  ABSTRACT PAINTINGS!  Paint like Jackson Pollock on a canvas, and have fun with finger paints and shaving cream!  $15,

JULY 16 and 19,  1:00 - 2:00:  SYMMETRICAL BUGS ON A LEAF!  Learn about symmetry and color mixing as you make paint squishes into alien bugs!  This is a 2 part class.  $25.

JULY 24, 1:00 - 2:00:  COLOR MIXING.  Learn more about color and the color wheel as you make cookie color wheels and paintings!  $15.

JULY 29, 1:00 - 2:00:  LANDSCAPES and SEASCAPES.  Learn about a horizon line and make one landscape with animals and one seascape using watercolor paints.  $15.
