GIRL SCOUT CLASSES
Juniors can have fun and earn badges in the following areas by attending a KID CREATIONS workshop, taught by Becky Brooks, BFA in Art Education, and held at a location of your choice! Leaders please contact Becky directly arrange a class for your troop. Prices listed are per student and include all supplies except the badge (leaders must get these). A minimum of 6 students is required for a class to be a "go."
DRAWING & PAINTING: 3 Hr. workshop - $25
ART IN 3D: 3 Hr. workshop - $25
PRINTS & GRAPHICS: 3 Hr. workshop - $25
VISUAL ARTS: 3 Hr. workshop - $25
CERAMICS & CLAY: 4 Hr. workshop - $30
*NOTE: The Ceramics & Clay workshop is split into 2 classes, 2 weeks apart. The first class is the "making day" and will last 2 1/2 hours, and the second class is the glazing day, lasting 1 1/2 hours.
All kids must pre-pay for the class if they would like to attend. All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE, but they can be transferred to another child if need be. Payments can be made by check, or via Pay Pal.

Hosted by Doreen Gadow at her home in Spring Hill, this 4 week class will introduce kids to the basics of Drawing! DATES/TIME: March 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 10:30 - noon. Due to space restrictions we respectfully ask that only the student and/or parent stay during the class, no younger siblings please.
COST: $50/child for the 4 week session, all supplies included, $5 sibling discounts apply.
LEATHER MASK MAKING (ages 10 and up)
This class will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 pm on March 13th at the First Presbyterian Church in Brooksville. We will have a potluck dinner afterward for anyone who would like to attend, including all family members! Please bring a dish to share if you plan to come for the potluck. COST: $25/child, all supplies included, $5 sibling discounts apply.
ART HISTORY/FINE ARTS/WRITING FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS - COMING THIS FALL!
High school kids can earn credit in History, Fine Art and Writing by attending this class. Details are still in the works, but a tentative outline includes the study of Ancient/Medieval Art, The Renaissance, Baroque @ Rococo, Revolutionary Era and Modern Art. Kids will have weekly homework assignments as well as one major writing assignment, one major art project and several small art projects. Time frame will likely be 12 weeks beginning late August. Keep watching for more details!

NEW CLASSES FOR 2011 START SOON!

CLAY - We have 2 clay classes in Jan - one in Brooksville and one in Spring Hill!
Brooksville CLAY CLASS: Hosted by Tiffany Grumbley on Jan. 4, 11, 18 and Feb. 1 from 10am - 11:30. Ages 7-10. Cost: $50/child, $5 sibling discounts apply, and all supplies are provided.
Spring Hill CLAY CLASS: Hosted by Trish Kiloh on Jan. 3, 10, 17 and 31 from 1:00 - 2:30. Ages 7-10. Cost: $50/child, $5 sibling discounts apply, and all supplies are provided.
LEATHER MASK MAKING - This class is for ages 10 and up. Kids will design and create a decorated mask out of leather, and will also make smaller items such as bookmarks and hanging decorations. They will learn how to use the stamping tools, the hole punching tool, and will paint or oil the finished piece as well as add decorative items such as beads, feathers, ribbon...etc. Hosted by Sim'aria, the class will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at 250 Bell Ave. in Brooksville, near the courthouse, on JAN. 9 from 1:00 - 4:00. Kids are invited to stay afterward for a potluck meal and music playing! Drums are available and kids are invited to bring instruments to play. COST: $25/child, $5 sibling discounts apply and all supplies are provided. May ask kids to bring a snack or dish to pass.
OIL PAINTING ages 14 and up - This class will meet at the home of Christy Santerelli in Brooksville on Jan. 14, 21, 28 Feb. 4, 11 and 18 from 2:00 - 3:30. Kids will learn how to paint with layers, from broad to detail, and will use subject matter of their own choosing. Class fee is $75 per child, $5 sibling discounts apply and all supplies are provided.
CCTA ART FOR H.S. and CCTA ART for YOUNGER KIDS - Contact Annie Baker for the High School CCTA Art class that will begin in Jan...this will be an intense, once a month discussion AND project based class that will stretch the kids' thinking about important and controversial topics within the art community while helping them express themselves and their opinions through art. Please contact Becca Wylupek for info on the class for younger kids that will meet on Thursday afternoons.
LINOLEUM BLOCK PRINTING/VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY, ages 10 and up - Kids will learn about printing techniques as they create a design, cut the design from a soft block of linoleum, and learn how to ink and "pull" prints from the block. Each child will leave with a set of 8 printed notecards and envelopes, their original lino block and several signed, limited edition prints that can be framed and make lovely gifts! This class is hosted by Lynn Fleites at her home in Spring Hill on Sat. Feb. 5 from 2:00 - 5:00pm. Cost is $25 plus a $10 supply fee for a total of $35 per child, $5 sibling discounts apply. We need a minimum of 6 kids for this class to be a "go!"
MOTHER'S DAY PASTELS - A 3 week class on drawing with chalk pastels! Kids will make one drawing they can give to their moms on Mother's Day....and some other fun surprises! April 20, 27 & May 4, 1:00 - 2:30, Hosted by Lynn Fleites at her home in Spring Hill. For ages 8 and up. $35/child...$5 sibling discounts, all supplies are included in the class fee.
